A Gary Native-From a Black Man to the Human Being-A Piece of Perfection Steadily Being Perfected

I'm working on finding balance, but in most cases, it's either life or death—a Scorpio trait—so I choose to Dream, until it (they) come true, again and again.

Two and a half hours north of where my existence sprouted, my roots were repotted within the soil of Gary, Indiana (the only 219, in my mind), the foundation of why I am, who I am, and the reminder of who I was, as I become who I'm meant to be—nonetheless a Gary Native forever.

A child (son) of a woman—My Ebony Butterfly—who was able to and did raise a boy to be a man—a Black Man. A brother to a Black Superhero, who allowed me to embrace the importance of being bold—being me. Now, a friend—Best Friend—to a Goddess in my eyes, who's helped me become the man I'm willing to accept. Lastly, a father—Poppa preferably—to a Queen, who has made me learn (still learning) that I am actually beautiful.

Inspired by many—those of thick blood and those of murky water—that have crossed my path, whom I've taken pieces of as I've become my own person. Ultimately, I am a piece of perfection (a detail of God's perfect image), steadily being perfected into the individual that me, myself, and I can only be.

With experiencing adolescent dreams deferred, I've come to fall in a greater LOVE with the glide of a pen, leaving behind a trail of inked words upon paper (anything within reach honestly) that brings LIFE to the myriad of fanciful thoughts that race within my mind; honest emotion that weighs heavy upon my shoulders; permanent truths that rushingly flood my heart.

I am a writer, an author, and most importantly—A DREAMER. One that will forever remain so, no matter the dream unseen or for every dream fulfilled.
